Surprised by Love

Sometimes love. whether it comes for or from something can be frustrating. In fact, correction, that is more often than not the case. This can be true whether it is a passion for a subject studied, a romance blossoming, or even an understanding of something greater than oneself, a newfound, or refound belief in God.

I was given the opportunity to preview the film for the purposes of. this review.
All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, after all.

Surprised by Oxford

In the new film, “Surprised by Oxford”. Caro Drake finds herself, facing all three and therefore, is well frustrated. A lot. In this true-life film, we follow Caro as she careens at high speed past all of her peers until she lands an illustrious scholarship an ocean away at Oxford. Here she has the opportunity to make good on all of her efforts and attempt to erase the pay from from her father’s failings. Not on her list, however, is an attempt to find God in any of this.

This is even more true when she meets a TDH (tall, dark, and handsome) while out at a party and finds him to be religious. The more they seem to drive each other crazy, well. the more they seem to drive each other crazy. As a friendship and possible romance begins, Caro must face larger questions about her fundamental beliefs about life and spirituality.

Caro has met her match

I truly liked this film on many levels. It’s very well written and acted. I enjoyed its authenticity, and especially. it’s lack of preachiness. Just as Caro had to find the spiritual walk she needed to walk, the same is true for me. I have not always been in the same place as some of my relatives, as some have not been where I am now. We must all embrace each person’s journey even if they are in a frustrating place.

I’ll leave it there. The story is too good to spoil. You can now watch SURPRISED BY OXFORD from the comfort of your own home! Rent or buy today for the month of November. Step inside the beauty of Oxford University and discover a timeless story about asking life’s big questions.
