Friday Fragments #19 -- Frags From the Sick House
Welcome to an other episode of Friday Fragments. I am slowly returning to life after one of the sickest weeks of my life. I was hit so hard and so fast. I posted my Christmas pics as a part of Sundays in My City but before I made it to visit three other "cities", I was OUT. You know I'm sick when I can't even read blogs but enough of that!Happy New Year! 2013 was a year of pretty extreme highs and a few lows but all in all, a year for which I am immensely grateful. I look forward to 2014 and seeing what it has to offer. In case you missed my New Years wish, visit here for a lovely rendition of "Auld Lang Syne".Most New Years I am running high on the "clean slate" mentality and trying to organize a years worth of stuff in a week but nature thought better of that. So as I get well, I will be going with the slow and steady theory. I have decided that there is time for me to do things right. I didn't get unorganized in one day and I won't get truly organized in one day. I have been making a lot of progress in my home over the last few months and I am just going to keep on that path. As Dory said, "Just keep swimming... just keep swimming".Last night, my husband and I thought we had crossed a big parental milestone but found ourselves crossing another one. My husband has been fighting the same bug so when both of our children were offered sleepover invites, we were overjoyed. Now this was the first sleepover for my daughter so I kept the phone close "just in case". As I was dozing off, I thought "Wow, both of my kids are on sleepovers and I am home alone with my husband!" Then the phone rang. But it wasn't for my Little Diva, Sonny-Bunny was feeling sick and wanted to come home. Now Sonny-Bunny NEVER wants to come home so I knew he must feel bad. So I crossed threshold #2 of parenting and did the late night drive for a failed sleepover pick-up. I put a coat over PJs, slipped on shoes and drove.Alas, maybe next time!****************************************************************************************************************************Well, as I've been sick that's about all the Frags I have today. Please check out other Fragmented Souls at the home of our lovely host Mrs. 4444s.
