Articulate in August -- Share Your Quirk

I am joining again with my friends over at the Axis of Ineptitude with a new round of August prompts. Today, those crazy gals want me to share my quirk.Oh! Where do I start? I certainly have a lot from which to choose.I am not cool. Or collected.Instead, I am sentimental. I am clumsy. I am goofy.I am Goofy And like the Goofy with a capital G, I dive in 100%.So now that we have established that, you know that I have a long list. Today, I will share my movie viewing quirk. Or more accurately, my movie sleeping quirk.I have suffered with sleep problems for as long as I can remember. I have dealt with them in one way or another over the years. As of late, my tool is Netflix.NetflixNow you may be saying, "that's not that weird, Traci". Just wait.I am not catching up on the "Orange is the New Black" or "House of Cards". I am watching the same movie over and OVER. It's usually a romantic comedy and one that I have know really well. I have to know it so well that it won't keep me awake wanting to know what happens and instead lulls my always-racing and goofy mind into a calmer (if still not collected) place. It started with Nick and Nite when they showed Mary Tyler Moore and Dick Van Dyke. The inner child in me sopped up this TV cookie with milk.Over the years, it evolved with technology. I began using VCR tapes and later DVDs of favorite films. Finally, it turned to Netflix. When my husband was away in basic training and specialty training, I started watching "Bridget Jones' Diary" every night. If I would wake up, I would start the film again. When my tape and VCR died, I watched it on Encore On Demand. I am still known for throwing that particular film into the DVD player. Most nights, however, I go to Netflix. My friend Bridget exists there but my feelings on "The Edge of Reason" would require its own post so let's just say I do NOT watch that film. So without my favorite quirky Brit, I have watched a series of Rom-Coms or 80s classics. It is always a little sad when Netflix removes my current nightly view from the queue. For months, I watched "When in Rome" and "The Proposal". More recently I've watched Katherine Heigl in "One for the Money" (hey, I didn't say they were all great films) and "My Best Friend's Wedding". I am now in an 80s haze as revealed by my screen shot.My Netflix viewing The Brat Pack has invaded my nights and I am okay with that. But I do have to wonder what Netflix must think of my multiple views each night. And what must poor Katherine, Kristen, Sandra, and Julia think when their residuals suddenly drop off? Alas, Molly and Rob will be my current beneficiary. So that's my quirk. What's yours? Join the fun and share your Quirk.
