Why I Choose to Walk on the Wildside
This past weekend, I had the immense privilege to hang out with some of the best bloggers in Texas. As a proud member of the Wildside Ambassador program, I am in esteemed company. And by the way, they're just fabulous people. So it goes without saying that I had fun playing at SeaWorld's Winter Wonderland. But the weekend was so much ore than that. It was an opportunity to truly learn about all the good that SeaWorld does. In a year where a lot has been said and without much factual backing, I got to meet the people that work with the animals. Let me tell you, these are passionate people who love animals. If you could just spend a moment listening to these guys, you would see people who love their jobs. They are educated and dedicated. They care for the animals that you see and the animals you don't. SeaWorld has rescued thousands of animals; most never becoming part of the park. They help cold-stunned turtles and injured dolphins. Here is the latest rescue -- a manatee that was so lost it ended up in the Houston Ship Channel. (For reference, it should have been in South Florida.) And that's why I am a Wildside Ambassador. While you may see these an Instagram stream of fun pics in the snow and hanging with penguins...there is a lot more to celebrate. I celebrate the people who have given their time and love to these animals. I would like everyone to have the opportunity I had to see first hand the care they give the animals and the obvious love they have for what they do.So that's why I walk on the Wildside and why I will continue to do so.
