January Challenge -- Be Happy

It's a reflection of my age but I can't hear the words "be happy" without thinking "Don't worry" beforehand. You're welcome.Seriously, though, I do believe that happiness has a lot of choice involved. I cannot control what happens to me but I can choose how I live with those things. Some days it is harder to be happy than others but I really try to put the best light on things I can. Now, I am not speaking about depression. Depression is an illness like any other and I don't blame people for depression. And I definitely know that telling a depressed person to smile is in no way helpful.I am speaking more of what I try to teach my children. My Little Diva gets her apple cart toppled a lot. I want her to know that she has the power to sit next the cart mad that it's on its side. Or she can start picking up apples. She can ask for help righting the cart. She can do a lot of things that improve her situation. So back to old Bobby McFerrin. There was some wisdom to his words. Don't worry, be happy.
