Seventh Flag Coffee Co.,  is celebrating its first anniversary as South Austin’s go-to coffee joint and neighborhood hangout. And Seventh Flag Owners Zach Biderman and Matt Jung know there’s no better way to celebrate a birthday Austin-style than with a lawn party on Saturday, June 27, from noon to 4 p.m. It will include live music from Austin bands, including 1960s-inspired Desert Culture and alternative psych-soul band Space Brothers, throughout the event. As a special treat for Seventh Flag devotees and partygoers, the café will offer free craft beer, nibbles from South Austin food trailer favorite Regal Ravioli, and samples of Austin-brewed KTonic Kombucha; Koa will be on hand with tastings of their juice made from organic fruits and vegetables, and, of course, all the handcrafted French press, pour over, cold brew, espresso and tea offerings Seventh Flag is known and loved for.And still better, while sipping coffee, Seventh Flag Coffee Co. party guests can also browse and support local vendors that will be onsite showcasing and selling their unique wares. Vendors will include Olive + M, a natural olive oil-based skincare line, which will offer these essential products for sale, as well as provide free samples for Seventh Flag guests; The Wild Standard, makers of fine, handmade flags designed by talented artists in limited-edition prints; Coterie Market, the procurer of locally made artisan gifts, which will have an assortment of best-selling sweets, kitchen staples, home goods, accessories and kids items on hand for purchase; and Mingle Jewelry, beautifully crafted in Austin, will set up shop with handmade earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets.“We’re really looking forward to the Seventh Flag first-anniversary party,” says Owner Zach Biderman. “There are going to be great local vendors, free beer, good food and lots of our quality coffee. What’s not to love? Austin Shakespeare's Young Shakespeare Presents

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

It's the final weekend of Young Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Curtain Theatre -- don't miss it!For its 7th season, Young Shakespeare, Austin Shakespeare’s teen company, will transform Richard Garriott de Cayeux’s outdoor Curtain Theatre (7400 Coldwater Canyon Drive) into a magical forest for their production of the romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Featuring auditioned young actors performing Shakespeare’s most beautiful poetry, “Midsummer” will run Thursdays through Sundays at 8 pm, June 18 - 28.Participating students, ranging in age from 12-17 years come from throughout the Central Texas area, including Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, Oak Hill, Central Austin and Westlake, among other places. “During the 8 weeks of rehearsal and performance, these young people transform in their approach to Shakespeare and acting -- and in the teamwork that comes to life. Audiences will feel their enthusiasm as an ensemble,” says Ann Ciccolella, Artistic Director of Austin Shakespeare.The Young Shakespeare program features a professional rehearsal process directed by Ann Ciccolella and teacher/actor Nancy Eyermann.
