My #GirlsGetaway in The Woodlands Scrapbook
Thanks to the lovely folks at #VisittheWoodlands, I got a much needed Girls' Getaway with gal pal and blogger BFF Priscilla, the Wheelchair Mommy. We had two days of great food, fun events, the all important sleeping-in. (You know a girl has to have her priorities!) All within the warm confines of the The Woodlands.
This is a sponsored post. I was provided compensation for time and travel. All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, of course.
We started our visit at the Westin Hotel. From the moment we pulled up, I was treated like a VIP. The staff at the Westin could not be more gracious and accommodating. I give a huge thumbs up to the valet crew, especially, They kept Priscilla's car available and assisted with her chair. Kudos! The #Visitthewoodlands team gave us a backpack of fun up front! The them is Come Alive and believe I did. We enjoyed Westin's food at the start of the day and the end!We even ate poolside in the moonlight! Now those who know me, know that as much as I love sharing good food with friends, I really love sharing great wine with friends Priscilla and I did not need much convincing to head out to the HEB Wine and Food walk.
It's Wine Time in the Woodlands!
So many wonderful wines to sip, even a margarita! It was a wonderful way to while away an evening. I even got a smooch...A whale of a smooch! What happens in the Vineyard (Vineyard Vines, that is) stays in the Vineyard,And that was only the first night! After another day of good food and more pampering (details on food and beauty to come, stay tuned!) brought us to the Waterway. We strolled and rolled our way to another great HEB event - Sips, Suds, and Tacos. Here we had more wine, of course, but also tried a lot of great beers. Tacos galore were available including Chinese tacos from Mama Fu's. Never thought of an Asian taco before but now 'm in love!
Still sipping...
Priscilla and I had so much fun but I wish I had dressed for the mechanical bull. Maybe next time!We finished our evening with Danny DeVito! I'm not kidding. We received tickets to "Matilda" at the Woodlands Pavilion, a Roald Dahl favorite. Priscilla and I knew that the symphony would be providing live accompaniment to the fun film but we didn't realize that Mr. DeVito would be narrating her role LIVE! How cool is that! One of the best surprises ever!
Our #GirlsGetaway was everything!
Priscilla and I finished our too-short two day friend fest with shopping and lunch. Here we are back at the Waterway for a final quiet moment before returning to life with hubbies, kids, pets, etc. So much fun I can't capture it all here. We ere spoiled with blowouts, lashes and nails. We ate pizza, more tacos, and sundaes. I'll share my beauty and food scrapbooks very soon. Until then, a HUGE thank you to the VisittheWoodlands for this amazing time with a dear friend.
